Catsimatidos, Lhota Say It's Not Carrion's Time, Not For Free!

A few months ago, it looked like the savior of the Republican party in NYC will be non other than a Obama Democrat. Carrion, who changed his party registration to unaffiliated, was seen as a gig for the Republicans to maintain NYC's control. Yet, in order to run on the Republican line he sought to seek the approval of 3 out of 5 County chairmen to grant him a Wilson-Pakula. 

Now that Joe Lhota and John Catsimatidis, who both have the name recognition to fit the frame, have jumped into the ring, they both claim there’s no need for the GOP to look outside the ranks. 

 "As far as I’m concerned, if anyone wanted to run as a Republican, they had ample time to change their registration like I did four years ago,” former "Clinton Democrat" Catsimatidis told The Daily News.“If they wanted to try to play both sides of the road until the last minute and after the last minute... We have enough candidates in the game," said Catisimatidis.

Lhota, who's Republicanism goes way back to casting a vote for Richard Nixon, acceded with his newly entered opponent. "There’s no need to use Wilson-Pakula powers, he told Celeste Katz. "There are ample Republican candidates available to run in the Republican primary for mayor. I wholeheartedly agree with John Catsimatidis that if people wanted to run in [this] primary, they had more than enough time to change their party affiliation," Lhota said.
