Celeste Katz has the invitation to an upcoming fundraiser for Republican mayoral candidate Joe Lhota, on April 29, headlined by Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
Here's the full text of the Giuliani pitch letter that accompanied the invite, as obtained by Celeste:
Please join me Monday, April 29, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at Excelsior Grand for a reception in honor of my friend Joe Lhota and his candidacy for Mayor.
Joe is one of us. He cares about our future. He knows what it means to make a day’s pay by hard work. He believes in America. He believes in our system. He knows there’s nothing more important than free men in a free society.
Joe believes, as we do, in a better tomorrow – and he will make it happen. As Mayor, Joe will make a difference. He’ll create jobs and opportunity, lower taxes, and reduce wasteful spending.
You know me; you’ve supported me for many years, and I appreciate it. But now we must all unite behind this good man to make New York City a better place to live, work and raise a family. Joe Lhota will build affordable housing, fight crime, create jobs, and lower taxes. He can, because he’s done it before. He did it when he served as my Deputy Mayor. And he’ll do it again.
Joe Lhota is my friend. Now we need him as our next mayor. You can help make it happen by joining us at Excelsior Grand on Monday, April 29, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. If you cannot attend, please consider contributing $100, $50 or $25 to Joe’s campaign.
Trust me, I know of no finer man than Joe Lhota. He will make a great mayor.
We need someone who will bring about sweeping change that is fundamental and real. He will sweep away the politicians who are corrupting our city whether they are Republican or Democrat. He’s unafraid to fight any politician of any party.
He’s one of us; he cares about us. Now, with your help, and mine, he will be our next mayor.
Giuliani was wholly owned and operated entirely by Ray Harding and Fran Rider, not Republicans.
ReplyDeleteHalf the debt GIuliani left Bloomberg was from before 9/11. At First Boston, Lhota ran the arm that foisted risky derivatives on naive municipalites.
The nazi heritage of Yaf led to their Praetorian Purge mentality which manifest itself in corporate governanace scandals and republican fractuousness.
